THE SHAPE OF EVERYTHING
During my stay in Leipzig, I embroidered seven artworks named ‘The Shape of Everything’. The size of each work is 40 x 40 cm. These works depict geometrical shapes that recall the ancient motifs and symbols of sacred geometry. Symbols such as the mandala or mandorla can be found in the art of many different cultures, from Christian to Hindu, and they belong to all people.
The first shape represents a circle or mandala, and all the other shapes are derived from the first: Vesica Pisces, triangle, square, pentagram, hexagon, the Seed of Life, and the Flower of Life. Working on the embroideries gave me time to learn about each symbol.
